Grayfords Excellence Award

Grayfords’ Practice Manager ‘Highly Commended’ at Excellence Awards Ceremony

Last week, the most prestigious annual legal awards ceremony in the country returned to the glittering ballroom of Grosvenor House, Mayfair. The Excellence Awards, beginning in 2006 and hosted by the Law Society, commends and celebrates the hard work and achievements of the best legal teams across England and Wales.

Often dubbed the ‘Legal Oscars’, this year’s event proved no exception to its unofficial title. The Law Society put on a remarkable spread of champagne and a stunning four-course dinner for its guests who had all gathered in the hopes of leaving with a coveted award.

Grayfords were delighted to receive an invitation to the exclusive awards ceremony this year as our Practice Manager, Linda Hayes, was shortlisted for the much sought after Excellence in Practice Management award. One of only four nominees shortlisted in England and Wales, the excitement was palpable as members of the firm accompanied her to the event.

Competition in the Excellence in Practice Management category was particularly fierce this year. Other shortlisted nominees for the award included Andrew Settle of Joseph James Law, Ian Walker of Family Law and Mediation Limited and the 2019 winner, Joanne Dalton of MSB Solicitors.

Tensions were high as Kirsty Wark, renowned journalist and this year’s host, revealed the awards. The Grayfords team were thrilled to see that Linda had been ‘Highly Commended’ by the judges, receiving a commendation certificate from the Law Society in recognition her excellent work as Practice Manager.

Proudly representing Grayfords, Linda has demonstrated her commitment and contributed to the success of the firm for nearly seven years. As the Excellence Awards “celebrates the very best” says the President of the Law Society, Linda’s recognition for her achievements as Practice Manager are very well deserved.

“I feel honoured to have been nominated for Practice Manager of the Year 2019. I feel that being nominated itself is a great achievement not just for me individually but for the whole team at Grayfords. Although I did not win first place, I feel proud that I was highly recommended by the judges who were impressed with my work which will encourage me to work even harder in the future.”

“We are delighted with Linda’s success at the Excellence Awards but not surprised: she is an extremely capable Practice Manager with many years’ experience.  She always puts our clients first and considers new and innovative ways to make their experience with Grayfords a better one.”
